The Greater Chennai City Police (GCP) has inducted three new Belgian Malinois puppies, named ‘Carlos’, ‘Charles’, and ‘Lando’, into its Sniffer Dog Squad. City Police Commissioner Sandeep Rai Rathore formally handed over the puppies to the squad, which plays a crucial role in criminal arrests, bomb detection, and drug detection.
With a total of 21 sniffer dogs, including specialized bomb detection, crime detection, and drug detection dogs, the squad operates in Kilpauk and St. Thomas Mount. The new puppies will undergo special training to work in coordination with the police, ensuring they contribute effectively to law enforcement.
