Government’s Vigilance Over Food Prices: Piyush Goyal’s Assurance

Emphasizing the government’s commitment to controlling inflation, Goyal highlighted the allocation of approximately ₹28,000 crores to the price stabilization fund in recent years. He underscored the importance of easing the household budget burden, particularly for women, and affirmed proactive steps to ensure stability in food prices.
Goyal cited past instances where the government swiftly intervened to address price surges in items like tomatoes and pulses, emphasizing the administration’s responsiveness to market fluctuations. Additionally, he outlined initiatives such as the introduction of subsidized food items like Bharat Chana daal, Bharat Atta, and Bharat rice, aimed at mitigating the impact of inflation on consumers.
