Goa Government Withdraws Charge of Deputy Inspector General Amid Misbehavior Allegations

Following allegations of misbehavior with a female partygoer at a nightclub, the Goa government has revoked the charge of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) A. Koan. The Personnel Department’s order instructs Koan to immediately report to Director General of Police (DGP) Jaspal Singh.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stated that the matter has been reported to the Union Home Ministry, and the charges against the IPS officer have been withdrawn. Sawant had earlier assured strict action against the officer after Goa Forward Party (GFP) MLA Vijai Sardesai brought up the incident in the Assembly and demanded the concerned officer’s suspension. The incident reportedly occurred on Monday night at a nightclub in Baga-Calangute.
