Girl Loses Limbs After Being Thrown in Front of Train for Protesting Eve-Teasing in Uttar Pradesh

In a harrowing incident, a girl in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly lost her limbs after being thrown in front of a moving train by two youths when she protested against eve-teasing. She sustained critical injuries, including the loss of both her legs and a hand, multiple fractures, and other wounds. The incident occurred while the girl was returning from coaching in the CB Ganj area.

Following the incident, the Chief Minister took cognizance, suspending the inspector in charge, chowki in charge, and beat the constable. The state government has offered a compensation of Rs 5 lakhs to the girl. The victim, a student of Intermediate, had been harassed by the arrested youths before. Despite prior complaints, the harassment continued, culminating in the gruesome incident. The girl’s condition remains critical.
