Germany Resumes Cooperation with UNRWA in Gaza

Germany has decided to resume its cooperation with the UN Agency for Palestinians (UNRWA) in Gaza following an investigation led by former French foreign minister Catherine Colonna. The investigation concluded that Israel had not provided sufficient evidence to support its accusations that hundreds of UNRWA staff were involved with Gaza terrorist groups.

The German government, in line with the report’s recommendations, emphasized the need for UNRWA to strengthen its internal audit function and improve external oversight of project management. As a result, Germany, along with other countries such as Australia, Canada, Sweden, and Japan, is set to continue its support for UNRWA in Gaza.
