Fukushima Water Release Temporarily Halted After Earthquake
The release of wastewater from Japan’s Fukushima nuclear plant was briefly suspended following a 5.8-magnitude earthquake off the coast of the northeastern Fukushima region. The operator, TEPCO, temporarily halted operations as a precautionary measure, adhering to established protocols.
However, subsequent checks revealed no abnormalities and radiation levels remained within normal limits. TEPCO confirmed that the water release would resume later in the day after ensuring the safety of the facilities. No leaks of radiation were detected, assuring the public of the plant’s stability despite seismic activity.
