Four policewomen sustained minor injuries when the police van in which they were traveling was hit by a tanker lorry near Government Stanley Hospital. The incident occurred as the police van, transporting a dozen prisoners and police personnel to a magistrate court from Puzhal prison, approached the hospital.
A tanker lorry exiting the hospital collided with the police van, causing the injuries. The injured policewomen were promptly admitted to the hospital for treatment, and the Muthialpet Traffic Investigation police have initiated an investigation into the accident.
