Four passengers died and 30 others were injured in a derailment involving the North East Express train in Bihar’s Buxar district. The incident occurred at Raghunathpur railway station at 9.53 pm. The injured were rushed to Buxar and Patna hospitals, with five of them in critical condition. In response to the accident, the Indian Railways provided Rs 10 lakh in compensation to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured individuals.
A special train was arranged for passengers at Raghunathpur, and helpline numbers were issued at various locations. East Central Railway officials initiated an investigation into the derailment to determine the cause.
