Formula 1: Red Bull Had the Speed to Beat McLaren, Says Horner After Jeddah Comeback
Red Bull team principal Christian Horner believes his team had enough speed to beat McLaren during the Formula 1 race in Jeddah. After a strong comeback, Horner praised his drivers and said they could have finished ahead of McLaren if a few things had gone differently.
During the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Red Bull faced some early struggles. McLaren started strong and challenged both Red Bull cars. But as the race went on, the Red Bull drivers pushed harder, improved their pace, and started closing the gap.
Christian Horner said, “We had the pace to beat McLaren. The car performed well in the second half of the race. If we had managed the start better and avoided small mistakes, we could have finished in front.”
Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez drove with determination throughout the race. They worked hard to make up lost positions and stayed focused even when McLaren cars stayed ahead. The Red Bull pit crew also made fast and clean pit stops to support the drivers.
Horner also pointed out the strengths of McLaren, saying, “McLaren is very competitive this season. They pushed us hard. But we showed we have a fast car and a strong team. We will keep improving and aim for better results in the next races.”
Red Bull plans to analyze data from the Jeddah race and adjust their strategy for future races. Horner confirmed that the team will keep pushing to stay ahead in both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships.
Formula 1 fans saw a thrilling race in Jeddah, with close battles between top teams. Red Bull’s fightback showed their skill, speed, and determination to win, even when the race doesn’t start perfectly.
With more races coming up, Horner remains confident. “We’ll come back stronger,” he said. “Our car has the pace, and our team has the spirit to keep fighting.”
