Former Kerala Senior Government Pleader Accused of Rape Surrenders
P.G. Manu, a former senior government pleader at the Kerala High Court accused of raping his client, surrendered before the Puthencruz DySP in Ernakulam on January 31. The accused had been on the run since November 29, 2023, when the Chottanikkara police registered a case against him based on a petition filed by the survivor.
He surrendered following the Supreme Court’s dismissal of his anticipatory bail plea and an order to surrender within 10 days. The survivor accused the former government pleader of multiple incidents of rape in October 2023, along with harassing calls and the dissemination of explicit photos and videos. The accused faces charges under IPC Sections 376, 354, and 506, as well as provisions of the Information Technology Act.
