Former Karnataka CM Criticizes Home Minister’s Response to Controversial Remarks
Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP leader Basavaraj Bommai criticized Home Minister G. Parameshwara for the statement that his department had no information about Congress MLC B.K. Hariprasad’s controversial remarks. Hariprasad had suggested a “Godhra-like incident” could occur in the state. Bommai accused the intelligence department of a total failure for not having such information.
He emphasized that if others had made similar statements, they would have been arrested. Bommai urged appropriate steps and interrogation of the MLC, expressing concern about the state’s law and order under the incumbent government.
He questioned the arrest of Kar Sevak Srikant Pujari for an incident 32 years ago and criticized Congress leaders for politicking around the construction of the Sri Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
