Moosa Raza, a former Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir and a renowned educationist, passed away at the age of 87 in Chennai. Born in Meenambur village, Mr. Raza joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1960 and served in various capacities in the Gujarat and Central governments. He was instrumental in negotiations during the armed uprising in Jammu and Kashmir in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Known for his dedication to public service, Mr. Raza was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2010. His demise was deeply mourned by political leaders and officials across the country, who remembered him as a veteran bureaucrat and a committed social worker.
