Former Car Driver Arrested in Connection with Deputy Director’s Murder
A former car driver has been arrested in connection with the murder of Prathima, a senior geologist and deputy director of the Mines and Geology Department in Bengaluru Rural district. The 45-year-old deputy director was found murdered at her residence in Doddakallasandra, with signs of strangulation and a slit throat. The Subramanyapura police acted swiftly, making three arrests based on suspicion, and one of them, former driver Kiran, is the alleged killer.
Kiran, who worked on a contract basis, was terminated from his job due to the alleged leaking of sensitive information and the inability to rectify the issue. Nursing a grudge, he took advantage of Prathima living alone, entered her flat on Saturday night, and carried out the brutal murder. Prathima’s brother, concerned about her unresponsiveness to calls, discovered her lifeless body the next morning.
Kiran, having fled the scene and switched off his phone, was later apprehended by the police while heading toward Chamarajanagar district.
