Following a complaint regarding unauthorized gift distribution near Fatima Church in Chennai’s Kodambakkam, a Flying Squad team conducted an inspection but found no evidence of such activities. Allegations of interruption during Easter Sunday midnight mass were raised by Elsiyus Fernando, an executive member of the Fatima Church Parrys Council, but officials confirmed no disruptions were made during prayer.
Meanwhile, BJP councillor Uma Anandhan claimed that tokens for hampers were distributed in a private building, but authorities found no evidence to support these claims. An Assistant Returning Officer clarified that while permissions were granted for the mass, no permit was issued for gift distribution. With the final report clearing the church, the complaint on cVigil was subsequently closed.
