Egmore police apprehended five men on Sunday for attempting to murder A. Somanathan and his friend Ajith Kumar near Albert Theatre.
The attack, fueled by prior enmity, involved a seven-member gang wielding knives. Following the assault, both victims were hospitalized, and an investigation led to the swift arrest of key suspects including T. Manimaran and M. Karthik.
