In a case involving a monetary dispute, the Thoraipakkam police have apprehended five individuals accused of kidnapping a field executive employed by a private firm. The victim, Mano Abraham, aged 35 and a resident of Thoraipakkam, worked as a field executive for Prembabu, the proprietor of a rental and leasing company.
On a fateful Tuesday, while Abraham was near Rajiv Nagar Park in Perungudi, five men arrived in a car and forcibly abducted him. They held him captive in a room and pressured him to reveal information about the whereabouts of money collected on behalf of his boss. Subsequently, they released Abraham near the Padur roundabout in Kelambakkam and fled the scene.
A formal complaint was filed by Mano Abraham at the Thoraipakkam police station, leading to an investigation that culminated in the arrest of J. Karthik, R. Arun Pandian (alias Arun), P. Rajesh (alias Appu), and three others. The inquiry revealed that Karthik, who had provided ₹5 lakh to Prembabu, along with his associates, had kidnapped Abraham in an attempt to recover the money, motivated by the recent arrest of Mano Abraham’s employer, Prembabu, by the Tambaram Central Crime Branch police for a financial fraud, resulting in his imprisonment.
