A catastrophic fire erupted in Bihar’s Siwan district due to the bursting of firecrackers, leaving around 100 people injured, including two firefighters. The blaze originated in a shop storing diesel and swiftly engulfed the entire Sheela Market. Traders, caught in the chaos, fled their shops, sustaining injuries in the process.
Over two dozen individuals are in critical condition, necessitating referral to Sadar Hospital and Gorakhpur for treatment. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Sunday night, prompting an immediate response from firefighting teams to douse the flames. Feroz Alam, SDPO Siwan, reported that injured individuals were admitted to hospitals in Siwan and Gorakhpur.
