Fire Breaks Out in Kurla Building, 60 Residents Rescued
A fire broke out in a 12-storeyed SRA Building No. 7 in Kurla West, Mumbai, around midnight. The fire, which started in electrical installations, wires, and scrap materials, quickly spread through the electrical ducts from the ground to the 12th floor, trapping residents on higher floors. The Mumbai Fire Brigade responded to the blaze, and firefighters worked to rescue the building’s occupants.
Approximately 60 residents were rescued, with 43 of them suffering from suffocation and breathing problems and subsequently admitted to various hospitals for treatment. The fire has been extinguished, and a cooling operation is currently underway.
