FIR Lodged After Nathuram Godse Posters Displayed in Karnataka Lord Ganesh Immersion Procession

An FIR has been filed by Karnataka Police following an incident in which posters of Nathuram Godse were displayed during the immersion procession of a Lord Ganesh statue in Chitradurga city.

The complaint, made by a resident of Jogimatti Road in Chitradurga named Hanumantappa, has led to the registration of the FIR under IPC Sections 505 (1) (C) (act with intent to incite, or which is likely to incite, any class or community to commit an offense against another class or community) and 505 1 (B) (act likely to cause fear or alarm to the public). The incident occurred during the Hindu Maha Ganapati Shobha Yatra in Chitradurga on October 8, with the complainant alleging that displaying Godse’s posters aimed to disrupt peace and communal harmony.
