FIR Filed Against ‘Hindu Mantra’ Instagram Page for Glorifying Udupi Family Murder
An FIR has been lodged against the ‘Hindu Mantra’ Instagram page for celebrating the murder of four members of a Muslim family in Karnataka’s Udupi district. The post, glorifying the act of a jilted lover, claimed to set a “world record” for killing four Muslims in 15 minutes. The post featured the accused’s photo adorned with a crown emoji.
The Cyber Economic and Narcotics Police Station in Udupi is investigating the matter and has registered a case for spreading communal hatred. The post insinuated a lack of support for the victims, linking it to the absence of Muslim condemnation in a previous incident involving Hindu girls.
The perpetrator, Praveen Arun Chougale, confessed to committing the crime due to issues related to friendship, love, and financial matters. He murdered four family members, including three women and a boy.
