FIR Filed Against Arvind Kejriwal for Public Property Act Violation
Delhi Police have filed an FIR against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for allegedly violating the Public Property Act.
The case stems from a complaint by Shiv Kumar Saxena, who provided evidence of unauthorized hoardings and banners featuring Kejriwal and other AAP leaders in Dwarka.
The Delhi court had previously ordered the police to take action, highlighting concerns over the aesthetic damage and traffic hazards posed by these illegal displays.
The FIR also includes former MLA Gulab Singh and ex-councillor Nitika Sharma. The charges are based on Section 3 of the Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 2007, with the next court hearing scheduled for April 18. This case, dating back to 2019, has drawn political attention, with opposition parties criticizing AAP over misuse of public funds.
