A shocking incident in Karnataka’s Raichur district has come to light, where a man, identified as 32-year-old Mahantesh, confessed to killing his 14-month-old baby, Abhinava. The accused believed that the child would hinder his chances of getting remarried. Mahantesh, a resident of Kanasavi village in Lingasugur taluk, initially claimed his wife’s affair led him to seek a second marriage but thought the child from his first marriage would pose an obstacle.
Subsequently, he killed the child and concealed the body under small boulders in the village. Following a missing person report, the police interrogated Mahantesh, who initially claimed to have burnt the body but later disclosed its hidden location. The body has been recovered and sent for a post-mortem examination as the Mudagal police continue their investigation.
