Fatal Tourist Bus Accident in Karnataka District
A tragic accident in a Karnataka district claimed the life of a woman and left five others with serious injuries as a tourist bus plunged into a forest trench. The incident occurred near Cheekanahalli Cross within the limits of the Gonibeedu police station in Mudigere taluk. The driver lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve, leading to the tragic accident.
The injured individuals were rushed to the Hassan government hospital, where their condition was reported to be critical. The victim has been identified as Surekha, a 45-year-old woman from Yelahanka in Bengaluru. The bus was carrying a total of 48 tourists en route to the Hindu pilgrimage center Horanadu. Locals have raised concerns about the dangerous stretch, with demands for barriers to prevent such accidents falling on deaf ears.
