Fatal Road Accident in Thanjavur Claims Four Lives and Injures Seven

In the early hours of Saturday, a tragic road accident occurred on the East Coast Road near Sethubavacharitham in Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu, resulting in the death of four individuals and injuries to seven. The accident transpired when a speeding car, carrying 11 passengers from Indira Nagar in Thoothukudi district, hit a culvert, causing the driver to lose control.

The vehicle collided with the parapet of the culvert near Manora Fort, resulting in significant damage to the front portion of the SUV. The passengers were en route to the Basilica of Our Lady of Good Health at Velankanni for worship. Sethubavachathiram Police have initiated an investigation into the incident, with the injured individuals admitted to Thanjavur Medical College Hospital for treatment. The deceased have been identified as Y. Packiyaraj (62), A. Gnanambal (60), M. Rani (40), and M. Chinnapandi (40).
