Tragedy struck in Telangana’s Jogulamba Gadwal district as a private bus traveling on the Hyderabad-Bangalore national highway caught fire, resulting in the death of a woman and injuries to four other passengers. The incident occurred near Erravalli Crossroads at approximately 2:30 a.m. The Volvo bus, en route from Hyderabad to Chittoor, overturned and burst into flames.
While the majority of the 40-50 passengers managed to escape through broken windows, a woman was unable to evade the fire and suffered fatal burns. Four other passengers sustained injuries, with three receiving treatment in a Gadwal hospital and the fourth being transferred to Hyderabad. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, but the bus was entirely consumed. Authorities suspect driver fatigue is a potential cause of the accident and have initiated an investigation, registering a case in this regard.
