Fatal Accident in Chennai Sparks Protests Against Unauthorized Truck Parking
A tragic incident on Rajiv Gandhi Salai in Chennai resulted in the death of a 28-year-old sound services shop owner, Vicky, who crashed into an iron-bar-laden truck parked on the roadside. The truck, carrying materials for Metro Rail work, was allegedly parked without authorization and lacked hazard lights. Vicky sustained severe injuries and died on the spot.
Following the incident, relatives of the deceased staged a protest, blocking traffic on the Information Technology (IT) corridor for an hour. They demanded action against the truck driver and Chennai Metro Rail (CMRL) officials. The police assured them of appropriate measures, and the body was sent for a post-mortem examination.
