Farooq Abdullah’s Gaza Comparison Sparks Political Tension: BJP Responds

Farooq Abdullah, National Conference leader and Srinagar MP, criticized the Modi government for its reluctance to engage in dialogue with Pakistan, drawing parallels between the situation and the conflict in Gaza. Abdullah emphasized the need for talks, citing former Prime Minister Vajpayee’s stance on neighborly relations.

He questioned the absence of dialogue despite statements from both Indian and Pakistani leaders expressing readiness. BJP leader Dr Hina Shafi Bhat strongly rebuked Abdullah’s remarks, asserting the government’s firm stance against bowing to Pakistan.

Abdullah also dismissed BJP’s claims of normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir post the revocation of Article 370, highlighting persistent terrorism. He called for a deeper understanding of the root causes and a shift from military approaches to effectively address the issue. The political discourse reflects ongoing tensions and divergent perspectives on resolving the complex challenges in the region.
