In a tragic incident in Karnataka’s Belagavi district, a 63-year-old farmer named Bheekaji Mirashi lost his life after being attacked by a bear. The incident occurred in Ghosebadruka village, near Khanapura town, as the farmer was working in his fields. Shockingly, the bear carried out the attack in the presence of other farm workers, who, despite making noise and throwing stones, couldn’t deter the bear.
The bear went on to drag the farmer’s body about two kilometers into the forest before leaving it there. This incident has instilled fear and concern among local residents, leading them to demand compensation for the farmer’s family and measures to prevent wild animals from entering their villages.
