Escalating Conflict Along Lebanon-Israel Border Claims 115 Lives
Since the initiation of border clashes with Israel after Hamas’s attack on October 7, a military source has reported that 115 people have lost their lives in Lebanon. On Wednesday, Israel intensified its assaults, employing heavy artillery to target the outskirts of 28 towns and villages in southern Lebanon, resulting in the destruction of six homes and damage to 20 others through drone and warplane attacks. In the village of Khiam, two civilian bodies were recovered from the debris of a house destroyed by Israel.
Hezbollah, an Iran-backed militant group in Lebanon, claimed Israeli casualties following its attacks on military positions in various villages and a settlement. The heightened tension along the Lebanon-Israel border, ongoing for over six weeks, originated when Hezbollah supported Hamas’s attacks on Israel, leading to reciprocal strikes and rocket exchanges between the two sides.
