Since October 17, amidst the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza, US and coalition forces stationed in Iraq and Syria have faced 46 attacks, with at least 56 US troops sustaining injuries, as reported by Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh. Two multi-rocket attacks on US and coalition forces occurred on Wednesday at Omar Oil Fields in Syria, resulting in injuries to three US troops.
The attacks have not relented, with a one-way drone targeting forces at Al-Asad Airbase in Iraq on Thursday morning. Despite no reported casualties or infrastructure damage, the frequency of such incidents is a matter of concern.
In response, the US conducted airstrikes on a facility in eastern Syria utilized by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and affiliated groups, marking the second such strike since the Israel-Hamas conflict intensified. The attacks on US forces have notably escalated during this period, posing ongoing challenges in the region.
