Enhanced Security Measures for Independence Day in Delhi

Ahead of Independence Day celebrations, Delhi Police have significantly bolstered security with over 3,000 traffic officers, 10,000 police personnel, and 700 AI-based facial recognition cameras deployed throughout the city. Key locations including IGI Airport, railway stations, and major public areas are under heightened surveillance.

The Red Fort, the venue for the Independence Day address, will feature advanced security measures such as high-resolution CCTV cameras and a smartphone-based identity verification app. Additionally, elite SWAT teams, snipers, and kite catchers will be stationed at strategic points. The police have also intensified patrolling and checks following a recent arrest of a suspected ISIS terrorist, ensuring a comprehensive security framework for the event.
