Ahead of the vote counting on June 4, Andhra Pradesh police have designated the strongrooms storing Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) as ‘Red Zones’ to ensure heightened security. Strict no-fly zones have been established at key locations such as S.R.K.R. and Vishnu Engineering Colleges in Bhimavaram, with prohibitions on drones and balloons.
Entry to these areas is restricted to pass-holders only. West Godavari Superintendent of Police Ajitha Vajendla and other officials have detailed comprehensive security arrangements, including a three-tier system involving Central Armed Police Forces and intensified night patrolling, to prevent any disturbances and ensure a secure counting process.
