Minister B. Nagendra, speaking at a district-level conference in Ballari, lauded Karnataka’s strides in empowering its people through robust social security programs. He highlighted the success of the state’s guarantee schemes, emphasizing their role in uplifting disadvantaged and marginalized sections. Underlining Karnataka’s emergence as a model state, Nagendra credited the government’s commitment to delivering on its electoral promises.
Despite speculation over government stability, Nagendra affirmed the continuity of guarantee schemes, asserting the Congress government’s dedication to stable governance under Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar. Moreover, he directed the district administration to ensure the inclusion of genuine beneficiaries previously deprived of scheme benefits. With significant expenditure amounting to ₹566.53 crore in Ballari district alone, the impact of schemes like Shakti, Gruha Lakshmi, Anna Bhagya, Gruha Jyothi, and Yuva Nidhi reflects the government’s unwavering focus on welfare and development.
The event also witnessed Bhumi Puja for upcoming projects, the symbolic distribution of cheques to Yuva Nidhi beneficiaries, and the distribution of two-wheelers by the Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation, underscoring the government’s holistic approach to social upliftment and community development.
