Empowering Industry Compliance: BIS Sensitisation in Chennai

In a collaborative effort between the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and The Indian Institute of Foundrymen (IIF), Chennai witnessed an industry sensitisation programme focused on Indian Standards for cast iron products and aluminium alloys.

With mandatory certification in place, approximately 40 stakeholders were briefed on the standards, emphasizing comprehension of product manuals and the procedural aspects of obtaining BIS licenses. Notable attendees included U.S.P Yadav, Deputy Director General (southern region) of BIS, and V. K. Raman, Chairman of IIF Chennai Chapter, reflecting a concerted initiative to enhance adherence to regulatory norms within the industry.
