District Collector K. Vetri Selvi of Eluru has taken proactive measures to ensure preparedness for potential floods in the region. At a recent meeting in Velerupadu village, she instructed officials from various departments to strengthen bunds, arrange boats and expert swimmers, and establish relief camps equipped with essential supplies like ration, medicine, groceries, and vegetables.
Emphasizing early action, she directed officials closely monitor rainfall and water levels in river catchment areas and preemptively relocate vulnerable groups such as pregnant women, patients, and children to safety. Her visit to local facilities like Anganwadi centers and interaction with displaced families underscored her hands-on approach to disaster management.
