Elderly Woman Accused of Killing Grandson in Karnataka: Investigation Underway
In a distressing incident in Karnataka, an elderly woman, Saroja, has been accused of killing her nine-month-old grandson, Advik, as reported on Saturday. The complaint was lodged by the baby’s mother, Nagarathna, who alleged that her mother-in-law was responsible for the infant’s death. Nagarathna claimed that Saroja expressed displeasure over her becoming a mother at an early age and went further, making the baby swallow betel nuts and leaves.
The final rites had already been conducted on November 22, but based on the complaint, the authorities exhumed the body on November 24 for a post-mortem examination. The accused grandmother has denied the charges, asserting her innocence amidst an ongoing investigation into this tragic incident.
