Elderly Occultist Attacked and Robbed in Anekal

In Anekal on the outskirts of the city, an elderly female occultist, Akkayyamma, had her throat slit, and her gold chain was robbed on Monday. Akkayyamma and her husband Narayanachari are local tantriks known for providing solutions through mantra recitals for various ailments.

The assailant, who had visited on Saturday seeking a solution for a muscle pull, returned on Monday, claiming a death in his family. He demanded gold jewelry and, upon refusal, attacked Akkayyamma, leaving her in critical condition. The robber also assaulted her husband, who tried to intervene. The police are investigating the incident.
