Elaborate Security Plan for Durga Idol Immersion and Dussehra in Uttar Pradesh
The Uttar Pradesh Police have devised a comprehensive security plan for Durga idol immersion and Dussehra celebrations across the state. Approximately 100 companies of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) and five companies of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) will be deployed in different parts of the state as needed. In addition, a CAPF company will be stationed in sensitive districts, including Kanpur, Lucknow, Moradabad, Mau, and Gorakhpur.
This deployment will remain in effect until Wednesday. Special DGP (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar has confirmed that no permissions have been granted for the installation of new Durga Puja pandals or Ravana effigies in the districts.
The police are instructed to ensure all necessary precautions during the organization of Ramlila, Durga Puja, and their respective immersions. Vigilance on social media is maintained around the clock to prevent the spread of misinformation or posts that could incite communal tensions.
