ED Raids Underway in Kerala Targeting Former PFI Members Over Hawala Transactions
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting raids at multiple locations across Kerala linked to former members of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI) outfit over suspicious hawala transactions. ED sources suggest that PFI sleeper cells were active in the state, and the central probe agency is investigating suspicious foreign hawala money transactions allegedly used to fund radical activities across the country by former PFI members.
The raids began on Monday morning and are ongoing at 12 locations in various districts. The ED has uncovered that these transactions originated abroad and were conducted through hawala channels in Kerala, prompting an investigation to trace the source of the money.
