A team from the Election Commission of India (ECI), led by Senior Deputy Election Commissioners Dharmendra Sarma and Nitish Vyas, conducted an interaction with District Collectors, Superintendents of Police, and other officials in Andhra Pradesh. The team assessed the electoral rolls and discussed various election-related issues.
They highlighted the importance of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Program to educate voters on registration procedures, corrections, and deletions. Emphasizing the need for clean electoral rolls, the officials urged proactive measures to ensure fair and effective elections. The team also stressed the significance of increasing voter participation, especially in areas with lower polling percentages.
The District Election Management Plan (DEMP) was recommended for efficient election planning and execution. The officials underscored the importance of enrolling eligible voters, organizing awareness meetings, and analyzing previous election data to address challenges and boost voter turnout in specific areas. SVEEP Director Santosh Ajmera and other key officials from the state were present during the interaction.
