Early Voting Amid Heatwave Fears Marks Polling Day in Andhra Pradesh
Amid fears of heatwaves and scorching sun, many voters, particularly senior citizens, turned up at polling booths in NTR and Krishna districts of Andhra Pradesh well before the scheduled 7 a.m. start. Long queues were witnessed as early as 6 a.m. in several polling stations across Penamaluru Assembly constituency, with voters eager to cast their ballots before the heat became too intense.
Despite technical snags in electronic voting machines delaying the process for some, heavy voter turnout was observed in Mylavaram, Jaggaiahpet, Tiruvuru, and Nandigama Assembly segments. In NTR District, a significant voter turnout of 73.39% was recorded, with Tiruvuru leading at 79.28%, followed by Jaggaiahpet at 78.20% and Mylavaram at 78%.
