Drunk Man Arrested for Reckless Driving, Assault on Sub-Inspector

The Teynampet police in Chennai arrested a 32-year-old man, Harshwardhan of Abiramapuram, for driving recklessly and assaulting a sub-inspector (SI). The incident occurred on Tuesday night near G.K. Moopanar bridge in Kotturpuram when Harshwardhan, under the influence of alcohol, was riding his bike with another person on the pillion.

In their rash maneuver, they collided with a woman riding a two-wheeler. An alert SI attempted to intervene, but the duo, still inebriated, attacked him with their helmets. The injured woman was admitted to the Government Royapettah Hospital. The Teynampet police have registered a case against Harshwardhan and are actively searching for his associate involved in the incident.
