In the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, the DMK has surged ahead in Chennai and its neighboring constituencies, showcasing an early lead that appears formidable. Across all seats encompassing Chennai Central, Chennai North, Chennai South, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, and Sriperumbudur, DMK candidates are emerging as frontrunners. Notably, Kalanidhi Veerasamy, the incumbent DMK candidate, has secured a substantial vote count in Chennai North, overshadowing rivals from AIADMK and BJP. Similarly, Dayanidhi Maran, representing DMK in Chennai Central, has garnered significant support from voters, maintaining a notable margin over opposing candidates.
In Chennai South, Thamizhachi Thangapadian of DMK is establishing herself as a strong contender, securing a considerable portion of the vote share. In Sriperumbudur, T.R. Baalu, the incumbent MP from DMK, has clinched a decisive victory, further solidifying the party’s dominance in the region. G. Selvam, another incumbent DMK MP, has maintained a commanding lead in the Kancheepuram (SC) seat, reflecting the party’s widespread appeal in diverse demographics. Sasikanth Senthil, representing the Congress within the DMK alliance, has also emerged victorious in Tiruvallur (SC), consolidating the coalition’s strength in the ongoing electoral battle.
