Discussion on Modernisation of Broadway Bus Terminus

Officials held a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the modernisation of the Broadway Bus Terminus in Chennai. The feasibility of relocating the terminus to other areas like Island Grounds was explored during the meeting. However, a final decision on the matter will be made after the model code of conduct is lifted following the Lok Sabha elections in June.

The development of Broadway as a multi-modal hub under a public-private partnership was approved by the Chennai Corporation Council last year. Once completed, the facility will integrate various modes of public transport, including buses, suburban rail, MRTS, and Metro Rail, while also enhancing pedestrian facilities.
