A major Russian missile attack on Ukraine has resulted in the deaths of at least 20 people and injuries to over 50 others, including the devastation of a children’s hospital in Kyiv. The attack, which targeted five cities with more than 40 missiles, struck apartment buildings and public infrastructure. In Kryvyi Rih alone, 10 people were killed and 37 injured.
At the Okhmatdyt children’s hospital, emergency crews searched the rubble for survivors, with the extent of casualties still unclear. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged the international community to acknowledge the severity of Russia’s actions. The assault, the heaviest on Kyiv in four months, comes ahead of a NATO summit focused on supporting Ukraine amidst Europe’s largest conflict since World War II.
