On Friday morning, several air quality monitoring stations in Delhi reported ‘very poor’ air quality as winter sets in. The minimum temperature was recorded at 9.4 degrees Celsius, typical for the season. The India Meteorological Department predicted a maximum temperature of around 25 degrees Celsius with a clear sky.
Anand Vihar, Bawana, Dwarka Sector 8, ITO, and Okhla Phase-II were among the stations with ‘very poor’ air quality. PM 2.5 and PM 10 levels were prominent contributors, exceeding permissible limits. While weather conditions may exacerbate pollution during winters, efforts to mitigate and improve air quality become crucial for the well-being of residents in the national capital.
