Delhi Traffic Police Issue Fog Advisory for Commuters
Amidst severe winter conditions and reduced visibility due to dense fog, the Delhi Traffic Police issued a precautionary advisory for commuters on Friday. With the Indian Meteorological Department predicting dense to very dense fog in the coming week, the advisory emphasized the need for precautions to avoid accidents and fatalities.
Commuters were urged to ensure the proper functioning of vehicle components such as lights, brakes, tires, windscreen wipers, radiators, batteries, and heating systems. Clear visibility was emphasized, recommending the use of defrosters, wipers, and low-beam headlights to maximize vision. In extremely dense fog, the advisory advised turning on hazard lights, pulling into a safe location, and turning off all lights except hazard flashing lights to prevent collisions. Overtaking in foggy conditions was strongly discouraged, and all motorists were urged to follow these precautions for their safety and the safety of others on the road.
