Delhi Police’s Crime Branch arrested three individuals and confiscated 45 kilograms of high-quality marijuana concealed in a specially designed cavity beneath the rear seat of a car. The accused were identified as Akhilesh Bhagat (29), a resident of Swaroop Nagar, Delhi, and Naresh Kumar (19) and Prakash Sharma (32), both residents of Madhubani district in Bihar.
The investigation was prompted by information about a narcotics consignment, and surveillance of suspected phone numbers revealed that narcotics were being transported from Andhra Pradesh to Delhi.
A car with a hidden compartment beneath the rear seat was intercepted in Delhi, leading to the arrests and seizure. The car had been provided to Naresh with instructions to travel to Visakhapatnam, where it was loaded with marijuana. The accused were apprehended while planning to distribute the contraband.
