Delhi-Noida Airport Corridor: A Key Infrastructure Project
Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, announced the imminent completion of a crucial infrastructure project: a 60-km long corridor linking southern and eastern parts of Delhi to the upcoming Noida International Airport and the Mumbai Expressway. The corridor, costing ₹4,463 crore, boasts six lanes and features eight elevated sections, 10 flyovers, and six busways, along with three-lane service roads on both sides.
Designed to alleviate congestion in Delhi, it will directly connect traffic from northern and eastern parts of the city, Noida, and Ghaziabad to destinations like Jaipur, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai via NH 48. Additionally, it will facilitate access to Kanpur, Lucknow, and Kolkata via NH 19.
Scheduled for completion by the end of 2024, this project is a pivotal component of the government’s larger plan to decongest Delhi, with additional developments expected to be finalized by 2025, totaling a budget of ₹65,000 crore.
