Delhi High Court Extends Judicial Custody of BRS Leader Kavitha
A Delhi high court has extended the judicial custody of BRS leader K. Kavitha until July 3 in connection with a money laundering case linked to an alleged excise scam. Special Judge Kaveri Baweja made the decision after Kavitha was produced in court following a production warrant. The warrants were issued after the court took cognisance of a charge sheet against Kavitha on May 29.
Additionally, the court granted bail to three co-accused individuals who were charge sheeted by the ED without being arrested during the investigation. Kavitha remains in judicial custody in two cases filed by the ED and the CBI related to the alleged scam involving corruption and money laundering in the Delhi government’s excise policy for 2021-22, which was subsequently scrapped.
